In the case of LG G7 two things which are eye-catching: the “large bendable” screen, which occupies almost the entire front panel, and enhanced protection of the housing (US certificate crashworthiness standard MIL-STD-810G compliance and IP68 protection category). Already these points are enough to be interested in the novelty. LG G7 would also have an excellent camera, and a capacious battery and effective hardware “stuffing”.

Appearance

Model LG G6 lacks trend of 2.5D-glass with rounding at the edges but still attracts the attention of the front part. It is still a question if LG will add 2.5D glass in its new G7 or not. The main element in LG G7 is a large 5.8-inch bendable display that takes up almost the entire front panel. To be precise – G7 would exhibit 90% Screen to body ratio with frames on the edges. According to the rumor, above the display, remaining space would not be much, occupied by a stereo speaker, the earpiece, and sensors – facial recognition, smile recognition, two volume keys on the left side of the body. Under the screen, space might be a little more, but there will be nothing except the manufacturer’s logo. The fingerprint sensor would be embedded inside the screen in a 0.03mm slit, removing the physical button or pads. The backside will feature a drawer where you can put two or format Nano SIM-cards or a SIM-card and a MicroSD memory card up to 2 TB.

Software and interface

LG G7 match 1

The operating system of the hero G6 is Android 7.0 Nougat, over which “stretched” proprietary GUI LG UX. Everything seems to be standard, but it should be noted a detail that will be evident if you want to launch an application or a toy party. The fact that LG G6 screen format requires optimization that the picture fills all the “non-standard” space or black stripes on the sides can be observed. However, to cope with them can be quite simple – causing a zoom function, and then the picture will be stretched, without any prejudice to the perception. In the near future, LG will resolve this feature for its upcoming LG G7 and the phone will hit the shelves with new Android Version, Android O.

Hardware and Performance

The press has already been broken enough copies about why the South Koreans have chosen last year (read obsolete) Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset for LG G6, rather than a potential hit of the season – new Snapdragon chipset 835, created by the process technology of 10 nm. The last chipset in its technical characteristics “beats» Snapdragon 821 on almost all counts, in addition, it consumes less power and significantly increases productivity. So, LG is going to introduce high-powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC chipset powered by 10nm LPP process for its upcoming phone LG G7. The new processor empowered Cortex A75 and Cortex A55 with 630 Adreno GPU will definitely provide a respectable niche to the LG Company.

LG will bring a lot more surprises by launching LG G7 in 2018. This was about the interesting facts of LG G7 but the story will continue once the phone gets released next year.
